Dr. Gerhard Schleining

Dr. Gerhard Schleining graduated in Food and Biotechnology and has more than 35 years experience in research and teaching in food physics and food quality and food safety management at the Department of Food Science and Technology of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU), Austria. He was responsible for education and coordinated for several years an international Masters programme “Safety in the Food Chain”. He was also guest professor at several universities in South East Asia. Besides ISEKI, where he was Secretary General for 15 years, he is active in several other international organisations such as: founding Board member of GHI, member of the training group, chair of regional section Austria and certified trainer of EHEDG and President of ICC. He has many years experience in EU-funded projects related to innovative teaching materials, methods and tools and he coordinated 2 Erasmus+ projects, FooD-STA a Food Studies and Training Alliance between the food industry and universities in Europe and SEA-ABT, a capacity building project to establish an Academy of Beverage Technology in South East Asia.
